Botho Arts Festival (BAF) started in 2020 with the aim of providing a platform for artists to showcase their work and to give the audience in Limpopo Province an opportunity to experience the work of art. When Covid-19 hit our shores in 2020, plans for Botho Arts Festival were finalised with funding from National Arts Council of South Africa secured. This forced the organisers to conduct the festival as a virtual event.
Due to persistence of corona virus and the strict lock down regulations in South Africa, Botho Arts Festival did not happen in 2021 and only restarted in 2023. The 2023 edition had productions from all over Limpopo Province, Mozambique, Kwa Zulu Natal, Eastern Cape, Free State, Gauteng and North West. It featured theatre dance and music productions. We are looking forward to receiving your application to be part of future episodes of botho Arts Festival as we continue with it annually.
